Tourism World to Gather in İzmir in 2027
İzmir will share its experience in sustainable tourism with tourism professionals from around the world. The Good Travel Summit will take place in İzmir from 26–29 April 2027, bringing together more than 200 industry representatives to discuss the future of sustainable travel, new partnerships and opportunities in the global tourism market.
The İzmir Metropolitan Municipality’s ongoing efforts in sustainable tourism are positioning the city as a hub for an important international tourism gathering. Bringing together tourism professionals from across the globe, the Good Travel Summit will be held in İzmir from 26–29 April 2027.
Hosted by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Tourism Branch Directorate and İZFAŞ, and organized in cooperation with the Green Destinations Good Travel Institute (GD-GTI) on behalf of the Good Travel Alliance, the summit aims to showcase İzmir’s experience in sustainable tourism to the international tourism industry while fostering new partnerships and business connections.
Under the theme “Promoting and Marketing Positive Impact Tourism: Connecting Destinations with Tour Operators and Online Travel Agencies,” the summit will bring together destination management organizations, tourism authorities, international tour operators, online travel agencies, financial institutions, technology and data partners, sustainability experts and tourism industry representatives in İzmir.
Future of sustainable travel to be discussed in İzmir
Over the course of four days, the summit will address key issues shaping the future of the tourism industry. Discussions will focus on strengthening the alignment of destination management organizations with the expectations of local communities and market demand, connecting destinations with the right travel markets, using reliable data and verified experiences to encourage investment, and enabling tour operators and online travel agencies to discover new destinations.
The summit also aims to transform growing global demand for sustainable travel into tangible partnerships and new market opportunities, establish direct connections between destinations and the travel industry, and support the development of responsible tourism models.
Four-day program
The summit will begin on 26 April with a welcome reception for delegates arriving in İzmir.
On 27 April, the program will feature the official opening and keynote speeches, as well as high-level panel discussions, strategic meetings and a gala dinner.
On 28 April, parallel workshops and matchmaking meetings will be held as part of breakout sessions. These sessions will focus on tangible partnerships and actionable solutions designed to connect responsible travel offerings with market demand.
On the final day of the summit, 29 April, participants will have the opportunity to experience İzmir’s sustainable tourism assets firsthand. Tours will showcase the city’s cultural and local values, with a particular focus on Çeşme, Selçuk, Urla and Menderes.
Destinations featured among Green Destinations’ Top 100 Stories, including Efes Tarlası Yaşam Köyü, the Urla Vineyard Route and the Efeler Way, will be visited as part of the program. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience local culinary products prepared by women’s cooperatives.
More than 200 industry representatives to gather
Bringing together more than 200 international tourism industry representatives, the summit will explore co-hosting and partnership opportunities with international brands and organizations through plenary and parallel sessions.
In addition to showcasing İzmir’s experience in sustainable tourism to the international tourism community, the summit aims to establish new connections between destinations and the global travel market and encourage partnerships focused on responsible tourism models.

The city aims to develop a sustainable approach to tourism that protects its natural and cultural heritage while creating lasting benefits for both local communities and visitors.
Led by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, and in cooperation with district municipalities and stakeholders across the city, ongoing initiatives aim to strengthen İzmir’s international visibility in sustainable tourism.
